Casapoiana is 3 km from the town of Bolsena and exactly 4 km from the nearest swimming and beach areas on the lake. All water-sports are available as well as horse-trekking, and pony riding. The entire area is full of Roman and Etruscan archaeological sites as well as medieval towns, beautifully preserved. Rome, Florence and Siena are all within 1 1/2 and 2 hours by car (faster still by train from Orvieto). Orvieto, well known for it's cultural value, its music festivals and excellent restaurants is only 20-30 mins away and should you prefer the sea-side, you are only an hour from the Tuscan coast, close to such places as Porto Santo Stefano, Orbetello and Capalbio.
